They say: All's well that ends well. It has ended…well in our favour. But is ALL well? In nearly 60 hours, hundreds of innocent lives were wiped out and hundreds more were maimed. The most decorated officers from the state police died in the line of duty. The armed forces lost some of their most gallant officers to this operation. Mumbai's pride, The Taj Mahal Hotel, has suffered for long. For 60 long hours Mumbai was raped — its spirit broken and fabric torn. The November 26 attacks have scarred each and every Indian. We will nurse this wound for a very long time. Yes, a lot has changed in these long-drawn hours. Also in these 60 hours, we have people in Delhi chanting for the well being of those battling for their lives in Mumbai. There are people aboard a bus in Ahmedabad breaking into tears listening to an "Ae mere watan ke logon" on radio. An SMS from Chennai comes beeping, asking to wear black in solidarity to those fighting for us. For 60 long hours, everyone fought for Mumbai —for its broken spirit, for its torn fabric. The November 26 attacks have ALSO united each and every Indian. We will nurse this wound together. With so much faith around you, it is hard to stay disillusioned. I was a cynic. Now I am a believer.
